Vakua (ongoing project)
Feeling do not quietly transform into memories. There is an inner process – a shift from the fluid nature of emtion to the fixed clarity of memory.
In Vakua, I attempt to give this transition a physical form. I invite selected individuals to share a feeling that has turned into a memory, emodied through personal objects. Sometimes the accompanying story is revealed to me; sometimes it remains private. These objects, once entrusted to me are vacuum sealed – preserved yet immobilized.
Within their sealed state, the objects remain visible but inaccessible. They serve as a visual imprints of the emotional past: encapsulated, stored, organized – echoing the way we archive our own inner lives. I deliberately refrain from adding interpretive text: the objects speak through their presence alone.
Each vacuum is paired with a portrait of the person to whom the memory belongs, creating a subtle dialogue between the internal and external, the personal and the preserved.
